Hey girls.  It's been a while, but I'm back on board.

How about some suggestions for good work.lunch foods that are lo-cal and nutritious?

Thanks!

This is my absolute fave thing to bring to lunch these days...

Get a small whole wheat tortilla
Take a couple of deli-slices of turkey
Some 2% milk shredded mexican-style cheese (or mozzerella or queso blanco)
And a couple of tablespoons of blackbean salsa (storebought is fine)

Layer cheese, turkey, and salsa on the tortilla and wrap it up. (Take the tops, fold them and then wrap it length-wize) and wrap it up in some plastic wrap or bring it along in a zip-lock, and you've got yourself a tastey lunch that is best served microwaved for about 45 seconds, but doesn't absolutely have to be if a microwave isn't available.

Also, I forgot to add...wraps are easy to change up the ingredients/style of cuisine. They are nice because although the tastiness is amped up if you can melt the cheese, they don't absolutely HAVE to be heated through and they are very portable and easy to change up and adapt to whatever you like or whatever your diet needs are. I like to do Italian-style wraps (take a teaspoon of pesto and a couple of jullienned-style slices of jarred roasted red peppers and/or sundried tomatoes with some deli-sliced roasted chicken and feta crumbles.

Not a bad idea, though I would use regular salsa. Thanks!

Cut up raw veggies/fruit
Homemade veggie stew (if you have a thermos, nom)

and I like to do variations of bento boxes - generally I make a seaweed salad (minus the sesame seeds and oil), a mandarin orange, broccoli steamed with garlic, and some mushroom soup :) It generally ends up totaling about 220 calories for the whole box, and the portions are pretty generous. Nom nom nom ;D
